I recently had the pleasure of visiting one of Galerie Stein’s featured artists, Jeffrey Tover, at his studio in the San Francisco Bay area. As an abstract expressionist, Jeffrey creates vibrant, dynamic paintings that are full of energy and life.
During my visit, I had the chance to ask Jeffrey about his process. You can watch a part of that interview below:
I’ve heard many artists talk about how intimidating a blank canvas can be. Jeffrey explains how he approaches this: "When you look at a canvas that's pure white, it's very intimidating. You have to destroy it."
His process from the very start is about action: "There's no idea, no concept in my head of what I'm going to do. I just want to destroy that perfection."
'Le Marais' by Galerie Stein abstract expressionist, Jeffrey Tover.
Listening to Jeffrey talk about his creative process—how colors are chosen, marks drawn, etc.—offers a glimpse into how his passion and energy are translated onto the canvas.
If you appreciate true abstract expressionism (and I expect that you do, since you're here), Jeffrey Tover's work is a must-see. His art is a bold testament to the power of creativity in motion. Check it out here: galeriestein.com/collections/jeffrey-tover
