In the realm of American self-taught artists, I find Tim Nerheim-Chereck to be a captivating figure. Tim draws from Abstract Expressionism, neo-expressionism, and the CoBrA movements, infusing his abstract landscapes with bold and dynamic energy.

Tim's unique artistic journey involves living with undiagnosed bipolar 2 for four decades. During this time, he channeled his creativity into classical music compositions. Seeking balance, he independently studied art history, laying the groundwork for his shift to visual art.
The early months of 2020 witnessed Tim's inaugural venture into painting, a significant shift that marked the beginning of an incredibly prolific period. Over the next two years, he created over 500 works.

What resonates most with me in Tim's work is what he describes as the intuitive exploration “of memory and opposing states of debilitating depression through unrelenting joy.” It’s no wonder that, in such a short period of time, Tim's paintings have found homes worldwide.
