Palm Springs Abstract Artist: Kevin Goddess

on February 20, 2025

Kevin Goddess is a prominent Palm Springs abstract artist. I'm thrilled to have Kevin's dynamic and modernist-inspired abstract paintings at Galerie Stein. His art is characterized by a personal visual language that reflects both architectural and organic elements, creating compositions that are both structured and fluid.

Splitting his time between New York City and Palm Springs, Kevin brings a unique perspective to his work—he blends urban sophistication with the serene desert landscape. His artistic journey as a Palm Springs abstract artist began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in classical drawing from Kutztown University. Then, after a decade-long career on the road touring with as a drummer in an indie band, he transitioned into graphic design in New York City. Eventually, Kevin's passion for art led him to focus on painting full-time.

Palm Springs Abstract Art and Its Influence

Palm Springs is well known for its modernist art and architecture, which emerged in the mid-20th century as a response to the area's unique desert landscape and booming postwar development. Characterized by clean lines, open spaces, and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living, Palm Springs modernism was heavily influenced by modernist architects. But beyond architecture, this design ethos also extends into art, where bold abstraction, geometric forms, and vibrant color palettes echo the principles of the modernist aesthetic.

Palm Springs abstract artist Kevin Goddess draws inspiration from this legacy by integrating the movement’s emphasis on structure, balance, and innovation into his paintings.
